posted on 10/9/12 12:50 AMOh man. I'm so upset I missed this! I literally grew up 4 blocks from the Grand Lake Theater. I now reside in Las Vegas but had I known about the screening I would have caught a flight out just to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.

posted on 10/7/12 11:42 PMWe had some good sushi in Oakland before the film. The audience was really into the movie, applauding and cheering a lot. Nor Cal locals Cab and Tommy G got a lot of love when their feature segments started!
During the Q&A I asked the Bones Brigade what they would have been if they were not pro skaters. Cab said a motocross rider, which a lot of people know is one of his hobbies. Tony said he was playing the violin when he started skating, but gave up the violin to focus on skateboarding. Maybe the birdman would have been a concert violinist!
The film was appreciated by skateboarders and non-skaters. Two thumbs up!
