posted on 8/22/12 3:01 AMJust saw the trailer and I'm so looking forward to seeing the documentary even more. Any plans for any screenings in the UK? It looks like it'll stir up lots of great memories, I remember seeing the guys at Livingston Skate Park in Scotland on the Bones Brigade World Tour in '88 or '89 - good times!!
Thanks for the digital download of 'The Search for Animal Chin'. I've still got my original VHS copy in its very worn cardboard sleeve. My VHS player is long gone so a digital copy is really appreciated.
Thanks again for the memories!

posted on 9/7/12 1:10 PMWhen Stacy Peralta says, "As skateboarders..." I believe it. This isn't posted to gas anyone but it's just difficult to watch things from my past become quite often just a commodity with a barcode. It's like buying it all over again. I understand the process of youth into adulthood often means changing the purity of one experience into perhaps a less pure vision. But I'll go along for the ride just like I did so many years ago.
Also, I understand the grind of releasing, a.k.a. promoting, a film and would like to thank Stacy Peralta, the Bones guys, and everyone involved in the process for paying it forward, once again. It means time away from family and friends-- hell even being away from your favorite toilet seat isn't fun. I hate saying something like this but I wish we could all go back to a time of living when a couch tour across the nation was a damn good dream come true.
As a skater, my early years came during the "arrest on sight" point of societal acceptance. I was one part of tight group of social freaks that learned to out handstand the high-school gymnasts (Vallely), had more battle scars than the football team (handrails), and never once thought of skating as a "sport." We met everyday as outcasts and became the only family we could rely on. It was our identity, our art, and P&P helped shape that formative moment.
Thanks again for re-visit. The ride continues...
